Demolition has begun of the Derwent Tower (Dunston Rocket) in Gateshead.
Workers have spent the past 10 months stripping out the interior of the tower block designed by Owen Luder.
Demolition is set to last around 18 months and I will try to get back for some more photos every week or so during the demolition but that's not a promise as I rely on public transport to get there.

See my photos of the tower and the old Tudor Crisps tv advert which featured the tower here Derwent Tower (Dunston Rocket).
A few photos of the nearby estate which looks like it will be demolished as well.
More photos as and when.
