Hello and Welcome

Hello and welcome to my photographs of Newcastle Upon Tyne, England and surrounding areas. Mostly I like to document our historic buildings and the ever increasing pace of change here in Newcastle but there are also many photos of our iconic bridges, parks, statues, murals, graffiti and pretty much whatever I find interesting.

All the photos taken from 2005 to 2017 on this site were taken with a cheap point and shoot camera, and from around 2016 the photos are a mix of a DSLR camera and various phone cameras.

Most pages on this site are updated with new photos sporadically, which are usually shown newest first.

The best way to browse this site is each of the following 5 areas, Newcastle, Northumberland, North Tyneside, Gateshead and Durham and South Tyneside, have their own page with a list of links to all of my photos taken in that area and an interactive map.

As well as all of the above you can also join me on my Walking the River Tyne Westwards Project, view My Urban Exploration Photos and see Old Photos of Newcastle.

Please get in touch if you have any old photos of the area that you would like to share with the readers of this site or if there is a part of Newcastle you would like to see featured here in the future. Contact me here.

St. James' Park, Kevin Keegan Remembrance

A shrine to Kevin Keegan continues to grow outside the South West Corner of St.James' Park.

Statement from the Keegan family, Monday 20th July 2026:

"It is with immense sadness that we announce that Kevin Keegan has passed away at the age of 75.

The former England player and manager had been battling cancer and was surrounded by his wife and daughters in his final moments.

"Kevin, a double Ballon D'or winner, was a much loved husband, father and grandfather.

"The family would like to thank Kevin's incredible medical team for all their support.

This is a hugely difficult time and they are requesting space and privacy."

The first four photos below feature a solitary Magpie watching over proceedings. I only had my cameraphone with me at the time so the shots are not great quality but you get the idea.
