Byker - Bolam Street School Demolition
Half of Bolam St School was demolished a few years ago when the school merged with the old Raby Street School to form Byker Primary School which is on the site of the old Raby Street School.
The remaining half of Bolam Street School was used by the local sea cadets group and the city council for something or other in recent years until it's closure a few months back.

Nice work Steve.
The landscape changes even more.
Thanks, aye it never seems to stop at the moment.
The wife used to go to Bolam St School many moons ago.
God, watching that sequence of photos was depressing, I went to school there, as did my dad.
It's completely gone now. I'll get back for a few photos over the weekend.
i also went to school there in the late 60s early 70s and yet still remember the odd name there was karen cooper keren taylor and dave curry to whome in those days was my best mate, and at that time was quite an all right school to be in
God, the end of Bolam St School, how depressing,
Sitting here in Florida, and visited your page for the first time, what a surprise. Us old expatriates like to think that the old neighborhood would always stay somewhat the same. The Bolam St demolition photos were so depressing.
I used lived at 154 Commercial Rd from 1935 til 1962. I reminisce about the old Byker often.
Cheers,
