Chopwell Woods

Chopwell Wood is a mixed conifer and broadleaf woodland, of almost 1000 acres, covering an area on the northern slopes of the Derwent Valley. It is situated about 10 miles south-west of Gateshead, in the north-east of England. The Wood is bordered to the north by Garesfield Golf Course, to the east by the villages of High Spen and Rowlands Gill, to the south by the River Derwent, and to the west by the villages of Chopwell and Blackhall Mill.

LOve these photos, do they still sell Xmas trees at Chopwell?

Thanks. I'm not sure if they still sell trees there. It's not somewhere I get very often these days although I used to go there a lot when I was a kid. This visit was from summer 2006.

I came across these photos when looking through some old photos I'd taken and although there was'nt a lot I thought they should go up on here.
